Mahadeva – Who is more powerful Shiva or Vishnu?
Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu both are powerful deities worshipped not only in Hinduism but otherwise too throughout the world. They are Gods who are responsible for birth, death and taking care of all the creatures.
In Hinduism, there are mainly three Gods who are responsible for the creation, taking care and destruction. These Gods are
- Lord Brahma
- Lord Vishnu
- Lord Shiva
However, there is no comparison of all the Gods, they are supreme energies running the world how a human can judge them, but even then if we want to get the idea we can say that Lord Shiva is the most powerful energy who is self-created and all in all-powerful energy who created Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma also to run the world perfectly.
In so many instances it is found when a person has lost all the hopes of life then only lord Shiva protected him or her.
Not only this Lord Shiva proves his supremacy and excellence on so many occasions when all the deities fail to survive the life and the universe.
Some of the glimpses of such events are as below-
Lord Shiva Saved the Life of Moon from the Curse Daksha
King Daksha cursed Moon because Moon loves Rohini only and ignores Raveti and the other 25 daughters.
However both are the daughters of Daksha, but Daksha didn’t accept this ignorance of Moon to his daughters.
Therefore, Daksha cursed Moon that the moon will lose his shine and life both. Moon asked Lord Brahma to save his life but Braham could not save him and told him to take help from Lord Shiva.
Lord Shiva saved his life and gives him a place on his forehead as a crescent. The day onwards Lord Shiva also called ChandraMouli and Chandrasekhar.
Lord Shiva Accepted Ganga in his hair
To give peace and liberation to the forefathers of king Bhagiratha Lord Shiva accepted Ganga and release Ganga from his hair.
Ganga came on the earth from heaven to offer peace and liberation to the subtle bodies of the people through the blessings of Lord Shiva. The day onwards Lord Shiva also called Gangadhar.
Lord Shiva Accepted Sanke as ornaments
Snakes were in danger due to their stepbrother Garuda or the eagle. Snakes asked Lord Shiva to save them from the Garuda. Lord Shiva gave them shelter in his Kailasha.
But due to the cold weather Lord Shiva gave them warmth and wore them in his neck as a garland. The day onwards Lord Shiva became Nageshwar.
Lord Shiva Consumed Poison in order to save the universe
Ocean was churned by Gods and Devils to get Amrit. During the churning various things came from the ocean such as Goddess Lakshmi, Kamdhenu, Kalpvriksha, Sura or Liquor, Gems, and much more.
Lakshmi went with Lord Vishnu, Kalpvriksha, and Kamdhenu were taken by Lord Indra. When Amrit came out both deva and Asur started to fight.
Soon poison came out from the ocean now nobody came forward to accept it. Lord Shiva consumed the poison in order to protect the all.
When nice things came, everyone accepted the one, but when poison came nobody came to accept except the most powerful Lord Shiva. Goddess Parvati stop the poison in his neck and then onwards Lord Shiva became Neelkanth.
Lord Shiva is the Master of Ghost
After leaving the physical body some people immediately receive a new body and some other takes some time until their energy calm. Until the new birth people have to live in the ghost world.
Ghost subtle bodies have so many negative vibrations that may harm innocent people. Lord Shiva is the only master of Ghost hence called Boothnath.
Lord Shiva controls them and keeps them in order and discipline.
Lord Shiva has a Veto Power
Lord Shiva has the power to postpone, proponed, and cancel anything that he wishes. Except for Lord Shiva, no one enjoy the Veto power.
This is why when all the efforts fail of everyone whether that is Deva or Devil, everyone comes to Lord Shiva to demand shelter and protection him or her.
Lord Shiva is the soul energy pervading all around in all the living beings. This is why Lord Shiva is called – Mahadeva while the rest of the Gods are called Deva.
